Meet some of our Team
Dan Hart : Semi Senior – 1ST Year ACA Training
I joined the firm as an AAT student, then switched to the Higher Apprenticeship Scheme before commencing the ACA qualification in 2016 to become a fully qualified chartered accountant; meaning that I will be qualified to the same level as students who wish to go the university route. One of the main benefits of training with Cansdales is that you’re thrown into the deep end from day one! Meeting and greeting clients and completing files from start to finish. Your responsibility as a Chartered Accountant starts from the day you arrive. It’s a great place to work both from a development and a social point of view.
Matthew Hook : Semi Senior – 1ST Year ACA Training
Cansdales offers a great place to train to become a chartered accountant while giving you the opportunity to get involved ‘hands-on’ in real-life businesses. There is a strong focus on development combined with a very social culture amongst students, which makes it an enjoyable place to work and study.
Craig McGonigal : Junior – 1ST Year AAT Training
The decision to enter full time work as an AAT trainee after finishing Sixth Form was one that I did not take lightly and have not regretted since. Being part of a supportive team at work and attending regular social events with fellow students has made the school to work transition much easier. The varied work that I undertake helps me gain experience and knowledge to support the studying I am undertaking as well as to feel a valued member of the team.
Other Roles within Cansdales
As we are committed to the support, training and development of our staff it is our practice, whenever possible, to promote from within. Once in our team you will, if you rise to the challenges and opportunities provided, find it possible to progress to Manager if a suitable position exists.
If we are not able to find a suitable role in Cansdales the training you receive from us will set you up well for your future career elsewhere. A number of previous trainees, after qualifying, have joined the top four accountancy firms and large corporations and charities where they have found their experience at Cansdales has given them an excellent grounding for further development.
The Support Team
Our support staff form a crucial part of the team. As a small firm it is essential that we all work together to provide our clients with the quality service we, and they, expect. As a member of the support team, staff receive relevant training and supervision to help them excel in their roles within the firm.
